Shavkat Rakhmonov Challenged Michael Page

If Michael Page really wants a top-ten opponent in his debut fight under the banner of the world’s strongest league, UFC welterweight division number six Shavkat Rakhmonov is ready to welcome the Brit into the octagon.

“How about number six, Michael?” the undefeated Kazakhstani fighter wrote on social media, quoting Page.

Former Bellator welterweight title challenger Michael Page, who will reportedly sign with the UFC in the near future, has stated that he doesn’t need a warm-up fight and would like to share the cage with a top contender as early as his debut.

In March of this year, 36-year-old Michael Page had his last fight under his current contract with Bellator, finishing Japan’s Goichi Yamauchi by technical knockout at 26 seconds. Thus the British closed the defeat from Logan Storley, to whom he lost by split decision in the fight for the interim Bellator championship belt.

Shavkat Rakhmonov, 28, earned his fifth early victory in the UFC in March with a third-round choke finish of Jeff Neal. “Nomad” was scheduled to fight Kelvin Gastelum on September 16, however, the American was injured and pulled out of the bout.
