Shane Burgos replaces disqualified Nathan Schulte in PFL Grand Prix semi-finals

Less than twelve hours after Nathan Schulte defeated Rausch Manfio via unanimous decision at PFL 6 in Atlanta to advance to the PFL Lightweight Grand Prix Semi-Finals, the league announced he had been eliminated from the playoffs and suspended both fighters for the rest of the season.

“This evening Nathan Schulte and Rausch Manfio failed to live up to the standards that all PFL fighters are required to meet in competition,” the organization said in a statement. “In accordance with the signed contract, all fighters of the league agree to make every effort to compete and defeat any opponent”

“It was very clear that Nathan and Raush did not live up to that standard in this fight. The PFL is disqualifying fighters and depriving them of points for this match as a sign of responsibility to all PFL fighters and fans.”

As a result, Shane Burgos, who will face Clay Collard in the semi-finals, will become a playoff participant, and Olivier Ovin-Mercier will compete for a ticket to the final with Bruno Miranda.
