Sergey Pavlovich surpassed Stipe Miocic in the UFC rankings

After defeating Curtis Blades last weekend, Russian heavyweight Sergei Pavlovich moved up one line in the UFC rankings, displacing former division champion Stipe Miocic from second position.

Now the Russian is only ahead of the former interim UFC heavyweight champion, Cyril Gan, and the current title holder, Jon Jones. Blades, knocked out by Pavlovich in the first round, retained his fourth place in the top ten.

The updated rating is published on the official website of the organization.

According to the UFC plan, in November, Jon Jones should defend the championship belt against Stipe Miocic, and Sergey Pavlovich is the main candidate to fight the winner of this confrontation.

However, there is a possibility that the winner of the title fight may end his career – in this case, the Russian puncher will fight for the vacant title with one of the participants in the candidates’ race.

Recall that 30-year-old Sergei Pavlovich is on a series of six early victories in the UFC, knocking out all his opponents in the first round.
