Sergei Pavlovich made a statement after the defeat

Twenty-four hours after his crushing defeat to Britain’s Tom Aspinall in a fight for the interim UFC heavyweight championship belt, Sergey Pavlovic made a statement summarizing the results of the match, as well as sharing his future plans.

“I didn’t suffer any damage to my health, I’m fine,” the Russian wrote from social media. “Tom was faster, I was unlucky to punch him straight away and he was more accurate. Decided one punch.”

“I’ll be back in the cage soon, I want to be active and perform so I can have a chance to fight for the belt again. That’s my goal and we’ll get there! We’ll draw conclusions and come back stronger. I see your support, thank you all!”

Recall that the heavyweight title fight, which became the second most important event of the UFC 295 tournament in New York, ended as early as 69 seconds into the first round with a knockout loss for the Russian. Prior to that, Pavlovic was riding a streak of six early wins, having knocked out all of his opponents in the first round.
