Sergei Pavlovic reveals plans after defeat

UFC heavyweight division number three Sergey Pavlovic, who suffered an early defeat to Tom Aspinall ten days ago, is motivated to get back in the octagon as soon as possible and has no doubt that he will still be able to get a rematch against the Briton.

“The last fight motivated me even more,” the Russian wrote on social media. “Revenge is inevitable. I will come back renewed and as soon as possible. My plans have not changed.”

On Nov. 11 at UFC 295 in New York City, Tom Aspinall knocked out Sergey Pavlovic at 69 seconds to win the interim UFC heavyweight championship belt.

The organization made the decision to introduce the interim title after the division’s current champion, Jon Jones, was injured and pulled out of his bout with Stipe Miocic.

Aspinall, in a recent interview, asked the UFC to strip the American of his title and declare him the reigning champion by scheduling a defense of the belt against Miocic.

Recall that Jon Jones, who tore a pectoral muscle, will be absent from the octagon for at least eight months.
