Promoter Oscar De La Hoya claims he is ready to sell his offspring – Golden Boy Promotions.

He spoke about this in
ESPN interview
: “It’s like I’m sitting in a gold mine – I have a company worth a billion dollars. And you know what? I can’t wait until I get rid of it. But there is something even more important to me. My dream is to be the first boxer to be included in International Boxing Hall of Fame including as a legendary promoter. Those are my goals.”

Further, De La Hoya voiced those fights with the participation of his boxers, which he dreams of first of all:

  • – Lightweight Ryan Garcia is set to fight WBA World Champion Gervonta Davis.
  • – welterweight Virgil Ortiz – with the unified world champion (WBC, WBA Super, IBF) Errol Spence;

  • – and middleweight Jaime Munguia with WBC title holder Jermall Charlo.

“Yes, we are sitting on a goldmine. When the time is right, I’ll be ready to get out of this business. But right now I’m here to make the coolest fights possible. This is vital. For sports, for boxing, for this company. And, above all, it is important for the fans,” the promoter finished the speech beautifully.

Earlier, De La Hoya announced attempts to organize another very cool fight: Bivol already has an opponent, we are waiting for the official decision of the WBA.
