Sejudo gave his prediction for the Makhachev and Edwards fight

Former UFC double champion, Henry Cejudo, shared his opinion on a potential fight between current UFC champions, Islam Makhachev and Leon Edwards, a clash that could take place next year.

According to the American, after victories over Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington, the Briton overestimates his wrestling skills, and will not be able to resist the Russian fighter in this aspect.

“Islam Makhachev is a fighter of a different plan,” said “Triple Champion” in a video published on his Youtube channel. “Colby Covington started fighting too late, and the simple fact is that when he went to the wa-bang, all of his attempts at a tekdown were successful – he did it with ease”

“For that reason, I feel that Islam is the guy who will calculate and pick Leon apart. Edwards fights everyone the same way. With the example of Israel Adesanya, we’ve seen what happens to guys who are largely one-sided. It’s harder to fight guys who have other weapons besides the jab.”

“In this fight, I’m going to have to give the edge to the one and only, Dagestani Nightmare Islam Makhachev. I just feel like he’s too strong, and stylistically, this dude can do much better than what I thought Colby would do.”

Last weekend at UFC 296 in Las Vegas, Leon Edwards successfully defended his welterweight title with a five-round unanimous decision over Colby Covington, while Islam Makhachev, who holds the light heavyweight championship belt, last stepped into the octagon on Oct. 21 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi, knocking out Alexander Volkanovski in the first round.
