Sejudo assessed Makhachev’s chances against Edwards and Covington

Former UFC dual champion Henry Cejudo believes a rematch between Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira is pointless, and wants to see the Russian fight for the UFC welterweight title.

“Why do we need rematches?” said “Triple Crown Champion” in another video posted on his Youtube channel. “If Dana White’s plan works and Colby wins, he can be paired with Islam and then there’s no need for rematches. You have to fight the most people to clear the division, then move up to welterweight and claim the title”

“I like Islam’s fight with Leon, and I like Islam’s fight with Colby. Personally, I think he’ll beat them both. Simply because he’s a big, huge lightweight and he’s not inferior to them in size, not to mention skill.”

As a reminder, current UFC lightweight champion and the organization’s best fighter outside the weight class, Islam Makhachev, plans to personally attend the welterweight title fight between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington, which headlines UFC 296 in Las Vegas on December 16.
