Sean Strickland considers the fight with Abus Magomedov a challenger

Sean Strickland does not believe that Drickus Du Plessis will be able to defeat Robert Whittaker, therefore, in the event of a victory over Abus Magomedov, the American will consider himself the main contender for the UFC middleweight championship belt, owned by Israel Adesanya.

“If the money is right, I’m ready to fight anyone,” Strickland told reporters. “I would love to fight the damn Izzy. I think Whittaker will take Dryus. I guess we all know that.”

“I’m a bit embarrassed that Drykus might get a title shot, but Izzy is Chinese and they probably want a real African champion. Did you hear Izzy say look at my skin color? I could not believe that this clown said such a thing. I don’t see him as black anymore. I look at him like he’s a fucking Chinese”

“A fun fight awaits Abus and me. And imagine, he knocks me out and becomes a contender, and then a champion. You need it? Who the hell is this Abus? Does this guy even speak English? At least I’m talking, and this dude can’t fight in Ramadan. Like I said, with this win, I deserve a title shot. Let’s do that. Worst case scenario, we’ll have to fight Izzy in the parking lot because it’s going to happen.”

Recall that the middleweight fight between Sean Strickland and Abus Magomedov will be the main event of the UFC on ESPN 48 tournament, which will be held July 1 in Las Vegas.
