Sean O’Malley’s coach named the condition of the fight with Umar Nurmagomedov

Tim Welch, the coach of current UFC lightweight champion Sean O’Malley, considers Umar Nurmagomedov one of the potential opponents of his ward, however, he is confused by the alarming trend associated with the Russian.

“Umar has dropped eight fights, and who knows why,” MMAnews quoted the American specialist as saying. “Training camps are difficult, especially when preparing for five-round fights, so, signing up to fight someone who could withdraw at any time is pretty risky.”

“We need to put a clause in the contract that he will pay us liquidated damages if he withdraws from the fight. Five-round camps are very difficult and we’d like to make sure he shows up because he’s pulled out of fights so many times it’s alarming”

“Umar is a beast. Obviously this fight is definitely going to happen if he gets a couple more wins.”

Recall that Umar Nurmagomedov will have his next fight on March 2 against organization newcomer Bekzat Almakhan, and a week later Sean O’Malley will come out to defend his championship belt against Marlon Vera at UFC 299 in Miami.
