Sean O’Malley reacts to Merab Dvalishvili’s victory

Reigning UFC flyweight champion Sean O’Malley shared his opinion on the challenger fight between Henry Cejudo and Merab Dvalishvili, which the Georgian fighter won by unanimous decision.

“It’s interesting for me to watch fights live and then compare what I saw with the broadcast on TV,” the American said after the UFC 298 event in Anaheim. “So I’d like to watch this fight again on TV to get a more complete picture.”

“I heard rumors that Henry came out for this fight with injuries. He looked a little out of breath and Merab looked good. It was a decent little fight from two little dudes.”

The champion also responded to a question about what he thought about the challenger status of Dvalishivli, who has been guaranteed a title shot by the organization’s management.

“There are three weeks left until the UFC 299 tournament, and I’m doing well. I need to get past Chito before I can say – I’m going to fight this guy.”

As a reminder, the flyweight title fight between Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera will be the main event of UFC 299, which takes place on March 9 in Miami.
