Sean O’Malley challenged Merab Dvalishvili.

Reigning UFC flyweight champion Sean O’Malley has announced that he is ready to defend his title against Merab Dvalishvili, as always, not without a barb for the division’s number one contender.

“I want Marab! 2025 will be legendary!” the American wrote on the social network.

“I’ve been waiting for this challenge for seven years, but who is Marab?” the Georgian fighter replied. “Dude, revisit the name lesson I gave Henry Sejudo. Merab! I guess you need another year to get ready to face the machine.”

Later, O’Malley published a video in which he said that he made a joke about the year 2025 to annoy his opponent and promised to make a title defense against Dvalishvili this year.

Recall that Merab Dvalishvili is on a ten-fight win streak, having won a unanimous decision over Henry Sejudo in his last fight, while Sean O’Malley had his first successful title defense a week ago, defeating Marlon Vera by unanimous decision over five rounds.
