Ryan Bader has filed a claim with Bellator

Reigning Bellator heavyweight champion Ryan Bader, who was left without a fight due to Linton Vassell’s illness, isn’t thrilled that the organization didn’t even try to keep a fight featuring him on the card for this weekend’s Bellator 300 tournament in San Diego.

“We told Bellator we agreed to everything, but it looks like Bellator doesn’t want to pay,” the American wrote on social media. “They canceled the fight and this will save them money.”

The heavyweight bout was supposed to be a rematch – the fighters met in November 2017 as part of the welterweight division and the Brit suffered an early defeat, losing by technical knockout in the second round.

Recall that the main event of the Bellator 300 tournament will be a lightweight title fight between Russian Usman Nurmagomedov and American Brent Primus, the winner of which will go to the finals of the Bellator lightweight grand prix. Also part of the event will be women’s title fights in the featherweight and lightweight categories.
