Rustam Khabilov explained the cancellation of the fight in Bellator

Russian fighter Rustam Khabilov, who was supposed to make his debut in Bellator at a tournament in the United States this weekend, explained why his fight with American Jalil Willis was canceled at the last moment.

“Unfortunately, once again, by coincidence, my fight had to be canceled already at the very finish line,” Khabilov wrote on the social network. “And again due to bureaucratic problems. When I arrived in the country, I applied for a work permit in order to legally have the right to compete, but unfortunately, having gone beyond all the normative expectations, I never received it and the fight had to be canceled.

“I apologize to all those who were waiting for this fight, were sick and worried. In the near future, we will discuss further plans with the team and will keep you informed. Thank you all for your support and understanding.”

The duel between Rustam Khabilov and Jalil Willis was supposed to be part of the main card of the Bellator 293 tournament, which will take place on the night from Friday to Saturday in Temecula, California, USA.
