Russian Ikram Aliskerov appointed debut fight in the UFC

Russian fighter Ikram Aliskerov will make his debut under the banner of the strongest league in the world on May 6 at UFC 288 in Newark, and American Phil Howes will become his opponent.

The organization of the middleweight fight was reported by informed sources close to the situation.

30-year-old Ikram Aliskerov received a contract with the UFC in September last year, showing himself in the selection show Dana White’s Contender Series. Having finished with a kimura in the first round of the Brazilian Mario de Souza, the Russian chalked up his thirteenth professional victory. Aliskerov suffered the only defeat in his career in the confrontation with Khamzat Chimaev, to whom he lost by knockout at the Brave CF 23 tournament in 2019.

34-year-old Phil Howes has been alternating defeats with victories for the past two years, and this time he returns to the octagon after an unsuccessful performance, in October last year, losing by knockout in the first round to Roman Dolidze.
