Ruiz-Ortiz undercard unveiled. And he’s a little wild for PPV

4 September Arena (ex-Staples Center) in Los Angeles (USA) there will be a boxing evening from Premier Boxing Champions Al Haymon, which will be broadcast in the US on a pay system (Fox PPV).

In the main event of the show in the WBC eliminator, top heavyweights (over 90.7 kg) will converge: the former combined world champion Mexican-American Andy Ruiz Jr. (34-2, 22 KOs) will fight with two-time challenger from Cuba, veteran Luis Ortiz (33- 2, 28 KOs).

The undercard will unexpectedly feature the conqueror of three weight divisions, the Mexican Abner Mares (31-3-1, 15 KOs), who has not entered the ring since 2018 (!). In the featherweight limit (up to 57.2 kg), he will measure his strength with compatriot Miguel Flores (25-4, 12 KOs).

But the second main event of the show will be another Mexican cabal: slugger lightweight (up to 61.2 kg) Isaac Cruz (23-2-1, 16 KOs) will test Eduardo Ramirez (27-2-3, 12 KOs), who earlier in this did not fight in the division (until 2021 he competed in featherweights, then there were two fights in 59 kg).

The PPV card will open with an entertaining lightweight confrontation between Mexican top prospect Jose Valenzuela (12-0, 8 KOs) and ex-world champion Jesril Corrales from Panama (26-4, 10 KOs). Valenzuela is known for dropping Teofimo Lopez himself in sparring, and he also brutally finished off ex-world champion Francisco Vargas in the opening round.
