Roman Kopylov plans to challenge Sean Strickland

If Roman Kopylov can extend his winning streak to five matches this weekend against American Anthony Hernandez, the Russian middleweight plans to challenge former division champion, Sean Strickland.

“If I win, I think Sean himself will be interested to take this fight and make the fans happy,” the Russian said while speaking to reporters in Anaheim.

At the same time, Kopylov believes that South African Dricus Du Plessis, who took the title from Strickland in the previous fight, will not stay on the champion’s throne for long.

“I don’t think the current champion, Dricus Du Plessis, will be on the throne for long – someone from the top five in the division will soon take over the championship”

Kopylov also gave his prediction for the middleweight fight between Robert Whittaker and Paulo Costa, which will also take place at the same event.

“I think Whittaker will win early.”

Recall that the fight between Roman Kopylov and Anthony Hernandez will be part of the main card of the UFC 298 tournament, which will be held on February 17 in Anaheim.
