Roman Kopylov: “Called out Sean Strickland, and he became the champion”

Russian UFC middleweight Roman Kopylov, who returns to the octagon this weekend, talked about how he sees his upcoming fight with American Josh Fremd, as well as shared his future plans in the world’s strongest league.

“I plan to show a great beautiful fight, to please the fans,” Kopylov said in an interview with UFC Russia. “As they say, we tune in for all three rounds, but we want to finish as soon and as colorful as possible, because people love it, fans demand it – we will try to show a beautiful fight”

“In terms of who I’d like to fight, here you go – called out Sean Strickland and he became champion. Hopefully he keeps that belt before we move up to him. Otherwise, I’d like to get in the top 10 and keep moving up the rankings.”

As a reminder, the fight between Roman Kopylov and Josh Fremd will be part of UFC Fight Night 227, which will take place on September 16 in Las Vegas.
