Regis Prograis: Ryan Garcia fight was a cakewalk

The WBC light welterweight world champion (up to 63.5 kg) American Regis Prograis (28-1, 23 KOs) would not mind crossing in the ring with one of the popular lightweight compatriots – Gervonta Davis (27-0 , 25 KOs) or Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs). But he doubts that they will want the same.

At the same time, Prograis is sure that it would have been more difficult with Davis, while with Garcia – a mere trifle.

“I hope to fight Davis or Garcia. But will it happen? I have no idea,” Regis admitted. – If you compare them, I think it would be more difficult with the Tank. He’s left-handed, he’s fast and he can box. And he also has power. I don’t know how cool it is, but it definitely is, because he has already stopped a lot of opponents. However, I doubt that any of them will be a big problem for me.

“But Ryan, that would be a cakewalk in general. That is, no problem at all. I wouldn’t even have to prepare for it. I mean, I would train, but not as hard as I usually do,” says Prograis. “I think Ryan is just a cute kid with no beast inside. And sometimes there comes a moment when this beast has to jump out, unless, of course, you are an amazing boxer who does not miss punches, such as Pernell Whitaker or Floyd Mayweather. And in a fight with me there would be just such a moment.

“I would have arranged for him,” Regis continues. “I will try to hurt you, break some ribs and knock out some teeth. I’ll try to break your nose and slash your eyes. I’ll do it all, you’ll feel it all. I don’t know if Ryan has ever been in a fight like this where he’s had a great time and wondered, “Well, do I have it? Is this beast in me?” Not sure”.
