A potential women’s bantamweight contender fight between Raquel Pennington and Irene Aldana will be the main event of UFC on ESPN 43 on March 25 in San Antonio.
The organization of the fight was reported by informed sources close to the situation.
The women’s fight will be a rematch – their first fight, held in July 2019, went the full distance and ended with a split decision victory for Pennington.
Irene Aldana, 34, is on a two-game knockout streak with Yana Kunitskaya and Maisie Chiasson knockouts, while Raquel Pennington, 34, has won five fights in a row, the last of which was a split decision victory over Kathleen Vieira.
Raquel Pennington and Irene Aldana currently sit second and fifth in the UFC women’s bantamweight division, respectively.
