As we reported earlier, the World Boxing Association (WBA) has officially appointed a fight between the WBA Super light heavyweight champion (up to 79.4 kg) Russian Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs) and Mexican Gilberto Ramirez (44-0, 30 KOs).

Gilberto himself has also spoken about this – the ex-champion of the category below is very happy that he will finally get the long-awaited chance to fight Bivol, whom he has long and persistently called for to determine the strongest.

Will he just get it?

British top promoter Eddie Hearn, despite the WBA decision, does not leave attempts to organize the next fight of the Russian champion against his British protégé Joshua Buatsi (16-0, 13 KOs).

Last week, the functionary said that he had approached Buatsi with a specific proposal to fight Bivol before the end of this year. “Yes, we want Buatsi to fight Bivol. We made him an offer and we hope that it will make him happy. And if so, then we can agree, ”said, in particular, Hearn.

Now it has become known, moreover, from Eddie himself, that the promoter intends to apply to the organization with a request to release Dmitry from immediate obligations to Ramirez, so that the Russian first fights against Buatsi.

If Hearn’s request is granted, the Bivol-Buatsi fight is scheduled to take place in October in England.

The promoter also notified that the Alvarez-Bivol rematch may not take place and spoke about the dangers.
