Mexican ex-world super-middleweight champion and recent light heavyweight title contender Gilberto Ramirez (44-1, 30 KOs) admitted that it was not easy for him to come to terms with the first defeat of his career, which he suffered in early November from the owner of the WBA Super belt from Russia Dmitry Bivol (21-0, 11 KOs).
However, Gilberto promises to pull himself together and return even better than before.
“It just wasn’t my night. Congratulations to the champion,” says Ramirez. “It was hard to accept this result, but I promise to come back stronger and better. I wholeheartedly appreciate all the love and support that has accompanied me along the way.”
Recall that Ramirez was defeated by Bivol on November 5 on points by unanimous decision in the main event of the boxing evening in Abu Dhabi (UAE). Our report on what happened.
