– You went to battle with two flags: Azerbaijani and Kyrgyz, said: “Azerbaijan is my nation.” But you are half Russian (Fiziev’s mother is Russian. – Approx. “SE”). Why don’t you consider yourself Russian?
“Because we believe that a nation follows its father. Education and nation follow the father. The father is the head of the family. Therefore, I was brought up in the traditions of Azerbaijan. According to religion and tradition, everything comes from our father. And my mother is Muslim.
On December 4 last year, Fiziev knocked out Brad Riddell at UFC Vegas 44. On February 19, he will fight against Rafael dos Anjos at UFC Fight Night.
