UFC on ESPN 31 co-main event

The fight will take place on December 5 in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) at the UFC Apex complex and will become a co-main event of the UFC on ESPN 31 (or UFC Vegas 44) tournament. Estimated start of the battle – 07:00 Kyiv time. The fight will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.

In the second most important duel of the evening in the octagon, two lightweights from the top 15 rating Rafael Fiziev (10-1) and Brad Riddell (10-1) will meet.

Fiziev made his UFC debut in April 2019 with a 1.5-minute knockout loss to Magomed Mustafaev. Since then, the representative of Kyrgyzstan has not lost, he has consistently won against Alex White, Mark Diakezi, Renato Moicano and Bobby Green. Fiziev fought the latter in August at UFC 265, going the full three-round distance with the American.

Riddell’s UFC record is 4-0, including a win over bully Fiziev Mustafaev. Also in the octagon, the New Zealander defeated Jamie Mullarkey, Alex da Silva Coelho and Drew Dober at UFC 263 in June. Riddell did not manage to finish any of this four.

Prediction for the fight

Fiziev and Riddell feel much better on the stand than on the ground, so we should expect an interesting confrontation on the feet. In the shock component, the opponents’ chances are approximately equal, but the Asian fighter still should not lose in the standing position to the New Zealander.

Riddell has good defense against takedowns, but if Fiziev decides to take the fight to the ground and he succeeds, then Rafael should be in charge on the ground. In general, we see more chances for victory in Fiziev.
