Rafael Dos Anjos has made a plea to the UFC

Former UFC lightweight champion, Rafael Dos Anjos, has asked the organization’s management to remove him from the lightweight division rankings because he is no longer going to compete in the weight class.

The Brazilian fighter posted the corresponding statement in the social network.

“Take me out of the lightweight rankings,” Dos Anjos wrote. “To all the lightweights who challenge me – I don’t fight in the lightweight division anymore. I don’t have to prove anything to anyone anymore. At 39 years old, I weigh 195 pounds (88.5 kg). There are a lot of fights in the welterweight division that make sense to me. I want to fight in July. UFC, get me back in the octagon.”

In March of this year, Rafael Dos Anjos suffered his third loss in his last four fights, losing a three-round unanimous decision to Mateusz Gamrot, and is currently ranked fourteenth in the organization’s lightweight rankings.
