UFC Fight Night 200 co-main event
The fight will take place on February 6 in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) at the UFC Apex sports complex and will become a co-main event of the UFC Fight Night 200 tournament. The estimated start of the fight is 04:00 Kyiv time. The fight will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.
In the second most important duel of the tournament, only Punahele Soriano (8-1) and Nick Maximov (7-0), who are striving for glory, will fight.
Soriano started his UFC career with two first-round knockouts, finishing Oskar Piejota and Dusko Todorovic. But the fighter from the Hawaiian Islands lost his third and so far last fight in the octagon. Last July, Pune suffered their first MMA loss, losing by unanimous decision to Brendan Allen.
Academy fighter Nick Diaz Maximov became a UFC fighter back in November 2020, but he made his debut in the promotion only in September of the following year. At the UFC 266 tournament, Maximov started in the organization with a unanimous decision victory over Cody Brundage.
Prediction for the fight
Maksimov is a good striker and a dangerous grappler capable of finishing on the surface. However, Soriano looks like a more skilled grappler, and in the stand he is also unlikely to be inferior to his opponent.
