Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles, USA. The eliminator took place WBA in minimum weight (up to 47.6 kg): Puerto Rican prospect Oscar Collaso (5-0, 3 KOs) in the fifth fight on profiring beat the Filipino two-time ex-world champion Victorio Saludara (21-6, 11 KOs).

It remains only to understand whose mandatory contender he became – the “super champion” from Thailand Tammanun Nyomtronga andwhether the “regular” Dominican champion Erika Rosa.

Puerto Rican – former tough amateur, winner Pan American Games – he acted confidently: he failed the ex-champion due to work with the body, countered with combinations, moved great. Both had successful episodes at the start of the fight. Southpaw Collaso almost dropped Saludar twice with left straights, he hit with a right hook in response.

In the 2nd three-minute period, both countered sharply. The Filipino smashed the nose of the prospect, who, in response, alarmed with quick multi-hit combinations, an incredible pace and density of the fight. In the attacking phase, Collaso looks like the ex-lightweight leader of the Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko – a very interesting fighter.

The Puerto Rican gradually grinded the Filipino down with non-stop pressure, angles, a lot of thrown punches, feints. Already towards the equator the battle was one-sided. Saludar was breathing heavily, obviously he had never met such a person before, although he fought with the best fighters of the division.

Round 7 was just incredible! Collaso shook Saludar with a body blow, and he took a knee.

The Puerto Rican ran to finish off, but ran into an uppercut – 1:1 by knockdowns. Until the end of the three-minute period, the Puerto Rican was the soloist.

By the championship rounds, Collaso slightly relieved the pressure, spud the opponent mainly with jabs, practiced on his feet.

Judges score: 118-110, 116-112 and 116-112 in favor of the prospect.

Collaso UD 12. Very cool!

Once considered a promising Mexican featherweight (up to 57.2 kg) Diego De La Hoya (23-1, 11 KOs), who has not entered the ring since 2019, resumed his performances and shortened his compatriot gatekeeper Enrique Bernace
(24-14, 12 KOs).

The underdog looked like a deer on ice in the ring – there was no balance, his legs slid along the canvas. De La Hoya boxed aggressively, left marks on the face of the gatekeeper. The referee did not want to release Bernace for the 4th round, but nevertheless decided. True, he soon stopped the fight.
