Prograis on the Browner-Redkach fight: “He has a huge belly! What weight will the fight be?

On February 18 in the USA, the local conqueror of four weight divisions Adrien Broner (34-4-1, 24 KOs) will fight with the Ukrainian Ivan Redkach (23-6-1, 18 KOs).

The ex-champion plans to first beat the slugger from Shostka, and then compete for the WBC super lightweight belt with compatriot Regis Prograis (28-1, 23 KOs). He does not seem to mind, but there is one caveat.

“Browner-Redkach? I don’t know what kind of fight it will be… reasoning
Prograis. “I bet on Broner, of course. But I don’t even understand at what weight they are going to box. That’s the problem. I looked at them at the press conference. Yes, Ivan seems to be in good shape. As for Broner… I have no idea how much he weighs now. But he definitely will not make the limit of 63.5 kg. Damn, he won’t even make 66.7 kg. Maybe invest in 69.9 kg. Or they will even fight in a contractual weight.

“You yourself saw that Broner has such a huge belly,” smiles Prograis. “Let’s say he manages to drive him away.” But how long will it take him? If anything, I’m ready to give Broner the number of my nutritionist. Yes, I’m really ready to help him. Of course I want to fight him. After all, this fight would have made very solid numbers. If we had a fight in New Orleans, we would have made crazy money. That’s why I want to help the dude get in shape. I want him to be in the best condition.”

Prograis does not believe that this will somehow help Adrian in battle: “Damn it, of course he can’t beat me. I’m fucking too tough for him! But it’s still too big a fight to pass up. It’s a fucking big fight. And I need those. Big fights, big names, big money. And after the fight, let him do whatever he wants. He can even hang gloves on a nail, as the money he has earned is enough to quietly disappear into the sunset.

In October, it became known that Broner followed Crawford into signing an eight-figure contract with BLK Prime. His duel with Redkach will take place on PPV. The Ukrainian signed up for Star Boxing in August and announced that he would become the world champion.
