Prograis accepts Cruz’s challenge: “I’ll give him a concrete beating!”

The WBC light welterweight champion (up to 63.5 kg) American Regis Prograis (28-1, 23 KOs) is ready to welcome the formidable lightweight knockout Isaac Cruz (24-2-1, 17 KOs) in his division and hold against him the first defense of the title, if the organization does not mind and authorizes everything.

Recall that the other day the father and coach of the Mexican “Pitbull”, Isaac Cruz Sr., said that they are ready to fill the vacancy of the applicant for Prograis, but on the condition that they receive a decent monetary reward.

“I’m just happy,” says Regis. “I would love to have this fight. I really think that I will stop him, and that I will give him a concrete beating. Well, if not, then just give him a boxing lesson.

Previously, former world champion Jose Ramirez refused to fight Prograis, who won the vacant title in November last year by knocking out Jose Cepeda in the 11th round, who was not satisfied with the offered 35% of the prize fund. Regis is hoping for a fight against Teofimo Lopez, but even with this option, not everything is clear yet.

Prograis did not choose the language, commenting on the announced fight of Ramirez with Richard Commey.
