Phil De Vries Defends KSW Heavyweight Title

British fighter Phil De Vries made his ninth successful defense of the KSW heavyweight title with a stoppage victory over Pole Szymon Bair at KSW 84 in Gdynia, Poland.

The title fight, which became the main event of the event, ended three seconds before the end of the second round with the victory of De Vries by rear naked choke.

In the first round, the challenger achieved some success in the standing position, giving the champion problems with his dirty boxing, however, the Briton moved the opponent to the ground and took control of the fight, no longer allowing the Pole to host the cage.

Finishing Shimon Bayor, 37-year-old Phil De Vries extended his winning streak to twelve fights. The British heavyweight suffered the last defeat in his career in May 2017, losing by technical knockout to Ivan Shtyrkov at the RCC tournament in Yekaterinburg.
