Petr Yan's team responded to Marlon Vera's challenge

Former UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan has no plans to fight Marlon Vera, who was left without an opponent due to Henry Cejudo’s injury.

About this in a comment to the publication TASS said the manager of the Russian, Sayat Abdrakhmanov.

“We are not considering,” the manager replied to the question of whether they are considering this possibility.

The day before, Henry Cejudo announced that due to a shoulder injury he was dropping out of the UFC 292 tournament, and Marlon Vera publicly turned to the Russian fighter with an offer to replace him.

Last year, Petr Yan and Marlon Vera were close to dividing the octagon, however, the Ecuadorian did not want to wait for the Russian, and in August he fought against Dominick Cruz, whom he knocked out in the fourth round, and Petr Yan lost a split decision to Sean in October O’Malley. After that, the failed rivals had one more fight – Vera lost by split decision to Corey Sandhagen, and Jan lost by unanimous decision to Merab Dvalishvili.

Petr Yan and Marlon Vera are currently ranked fifth and sixth in the UFC bantamweight division, respectively.

Recall that the UFC 292 tournament will take place on August 19 in Boston, and its main event will be the bantamweight title fight between Aljamain Sterling and Sean O’Malley.
