28-year-old Russian fighter Petr Yan lost his bantamweight title to Aljamain Sterling at UFC 259.
In the fourth round, Yang hit the opponent with a knee to the head. At this point, Sterling was lying on the canvas. As a result, the Russian was disqualified for an illegal strike and Sterling was awarded the victory. After the fight, Yang apologized to the American.
