The current interim UFC bantamweight champion, Russian Petr Yan turned to Jose Aldo after his victory over Rob Font.
“Congratulations, King Rio [Король Рио]. I spoke after our fight [что] he will beat anyone in our weight class,” Jan wrote on Instagram.
Aldo, in the status of an outsider, confidently defeated Font by unanimous decision.
Yan and Aldo fought at UFC 251 last July in Abu Dhabi. Then the Russian defeated Aldo by technical knockout in the fifth round and became the owner of the vacant UFC bantamweight belt.
Early next year, Yan will face American Aljamain Sterling, whom he lost to in March due to disqualification for an unintentional but illegal knee to the head.
