Peter Yan returned to Russia after winning in the UFC

Former UFC flyweight champion Peter Yan, who successfully resumed his career this past weekend after a one-year hiatus, arrived home in Russia after being away for two and a half months.

“I haven’t been home for a long time,” the Russian was quoted as saying by the press service of the Archangel Michael club. “Flew out right after the New Year. Native land plus the weather is like this – it’s not cold, but it’s snowing. Emotions are the most pleasant”

The fighter also confirmed the words of his manager, Sayat Abdrahamanov, who said that before the end of the year his ward plans to go into the octagon twice more.

“There is a plan to have two fights this year. Now it is necessary to undergo a medical examination. Tomorrow I’ve already made an appointment for an MRI, and maybe I’ll go straight to the gym”

On March 9 at UFC 299 in Las Vegas, Peter Yan snapped a three-fight losing streak by defeating China’s Song Yadong by unanimous decision to retain his No. 4 ranking in the UFC’s lightweight division.
