Former UFC lightweight champion Peter Yan has revealed when he plans to return to the octagon.
“UFC 299 sounds good for a comeback,” the Russian fighter wrote on social media.
At the same time, the former champion did not specify which of the division’s top fighters he sees as his next opponent.
In March of this year, Petr Yan suffered his third consecutive defeat, losing by unanimous decision to Merab Dvalishvili after five rounds. Prior to that, the 30-year-old Russian lost by split decisions to Aljamain Sterling and Sean O’Malley.
Yang’s last win came in October 2021, when he defeated Corey Sandhagen by unanimous decision in a fight for the interim championship belt.
As a reminder, UFC 299 will take place on March 9, and its main event will be a flyweight title fight between Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera.
