Pereira doesn’t see Ancalaev as one of the UFC’s top three welterweights

Reigning UFC bantamweight titleholder Alex Pereira, who will share the octagon with former champion Jamal Hill in less than two months, doesn’t think Russian welterweight Magomed Ankalaev is deservedly ranked third in the division’s rankings.

“Jamal is not the second best welterweight after me, but at least the fourth,” the Brazilian said on another edition of The MMA Hour program. “After me comes Jan Blachowicz, Jiri Prochazka and then Jamal Hill. If you pick the best fight for me out of them, it’s going to be Jamal Hill.”

“As for Magomed Ankalaev, it would be a good opportunity to prove some people wrong. They’re saying he’s the guy who’s going to beat me. At some point I want to prove something to myself and everybody else, to shut everybody’s mouth about my ground game”

As a reminder, the bantamweight title fight between Alex Pereira and Jamal Hill will be the main event of the UFC 300 anniversary event, which will take place April 13 in Las Vegas.
