Sean Strickland, who started the year with a win over Nassurdin Imavov, wants to see former UFC middleweight title contender Paulo Costa as his next opponent, who has one fight left on his current contract with the organization.
“Hey Costa, I think we should fight bro,” the American said in a video posted on social media. “You know, it’s damn logical. I don’t know if you’ll be drunk or if you can make weight eating cookies – let’s just do it.”
“I think Costa and I need to dance. I’ll even buy some wine. What do you think about this?”, – he added, referring to the fans.
The Brazilian’s answer was not long in coming.
“Somewhere very deep inside Strickland is a good guy, but one of his many problems is that he has taken so many blows to the head that he lives with a permanent concussion,” Costa wrote. “He keeps making old jokes instead of coming up with something new. But you can’t deny him courage.”
Paulo Costa and Sean Strickland are currently ranked sixth and seventh in the UFC middleweight rankings, respectively.
