Paulo Costa has challenged Kamar Usman to a challenge

Former UFC middleweight title challenger Paulo Costa has become another top middleweight who wants former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman as his next opponent.

“Usman at middleweight looks interesting,” the Brazilian wrote on social media. “Chen Chen couldn’t finish him even at short notice. I can do it!”

“The Nigerian Nightmare” was previously challenged by Dagestan native Nassurdin Imavov, ranked eighth in the UFC’s middleweight division rankings.

Last October, Paulo Costa was scheduled to fight Hamzat Chimaev, but he pulled out of the fight two weeks before UFC 294 due to a staph infection, and his place on the card was taken by Kamaru Usman, who lost to “Borz” by majority decision after three rounds.

Last week, the Brazilian competed at UFC 298, losing by unanimous decision to former division champion Robert Whittaker.
