Paige VanZant will no longer be competing at the upcoming BKFC London card scheduled on Aug. 20.

Multiple sources confirmed to MMA Fighting Tuesday that VanZant’s fight against Charisa Sigala had been pulled from the event. Plans are to reschedule it at a later time. News of the change was first reported by My MMA News.

At this time, there’s been no word why the change was made.

The sudden change comes just as VanZant was about to compete in her third bout for the promotion bare-knuckle after signing a lucrative contract with BKFC. This deal came shortly after VanZant’s exit from UFC.

Thus far, VanZant has posted an 0-2 record with close fights against both Britain Hart and Rachael Ostovich in her two bare-knuckle fights.

The upcoming bout against Sigala serves as the last fight on her current contract with BKFC, although VanZant told MMA Fighting that she would hope to stay with the promotion for the future.

” I never imagined that I would sign for BKFC,” VanZant stated on The Fighter vs. The Writer. The Writer.

“I don’t see this being my last bare-knuckle boxing match. They are my favorite fighters. I like BKFC a lot. I think I want to continue having a future with them forever. This is not my last .”

.

VanZant must now wait for a future date in order to fight again, after she lost her last fight back in July 2021..

The main event of the BKFC London card is still in place as Bellator’s Michael “Venom”, a former fighter, crosses over to face UFC veteran Mike Perry. The card airs live on the BKFC app as well as FITE TV on Saturday.
