Paddy Pimblett expects a war with Tony Ferguson

Rising star of the UFC lightweight division, Paddy Pimblett, who is set to share the octagon with Tony Ferguson in two and a half weeks, is not going to be cautious in his fight with the American and promises to show fans a colorful spectacle.

“I want a war, I want to look like Anthony Pettis after I fight him – I want to look worse than Anthony Pettis after I fight him,” the Brit said in an interview with the Energized Show. “I want to get a fight, guys. I’m going to go out there and make a mess.”

“In this fight, I lose either way. If I lose, people are going to say, ‘Even a declining Tony beat him,’ and if I win, they’re going to say, ‘This win doesn’t mean anything – Tony hasn’t been around for a long time.’ Even though everyone is betting on Tony, I know for a fact that even if I win, I won’t get any recognition.

Recall that the lightweight fight between Tony Ferguson and Paddy Pimblett will be part of the UFC 296 tournament, which will take place on December 16 in Las Vegas and will be the last event of the strongest league of the world in the current year.
