Former world welterweight champion American Victor Ortiz believes that Mexican super middleweight Saul Canelo Alvarez (58-2-22, 39 KOs) has no chance in a rematch with WBA Super champion Russian Dmitry Bivol (21-0, 11 KOs).

The fighters met in May – the champion defended the title, won by decision of the judges.

“I’m sure Bivol will do the exact same thing to Canelo again as he did in the first fight.” reasoning Ortis. I’m just saying what I see. Many have already accused me of bias. But I don’t understand it. For me, it’s just boxing. It’s just a sport. Why can’t Canelo beat him? Because these are fighters from different weight categories. Bivol boxing in his weight. And Canelo… Man, he’s shorter than me. What did he forget about this weight? He is by and large a middleweight. I think that you need to stick to your line, but that’s not all.”

Ortiz believes that “Bivol is just great. I don’t know what he will choose next. But if he wants an easier option, then he definitely needs to fight Canelo in a rematch. Fight him in second middle limit? No, wait, that’s not how it works. He is a champion. If you want to beat a champion, fight at his weight.”

In fact, Canelo is also the world champion, and the holder of all super middleweight titles. Bivol has already stated that he is interested in a fight for the title of the absolute division below: “It’s interesting.” The promoter of the Russian Eddie Hearn is sure that “Bivol is No. 1 in the P4P rating and the king of light heavyweight.”
