The head of Matchroom Boxing and promoter Anthony Joshua (24-2, 23 KOs) believes that his client has a better track record than WBC champion Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs). According to Eddie Hearn, the only top contenders on Fury’s 14-year resume are pre-retirement 40-year-old Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder.
When the functionary was asked why Joshua didn’t challenge Fury after he defeated Derek Chisora in early December, he replied that “it’s not his style.”
“It’s Fury calling everyone,”
explained Hearn. – And his [Джошуа] summary – in another league. Tyson fought Klitschko and Wilder. That’s all for the elite guys. I know Dillian Whyte was a good fighter, but I’m talking about the best. Fury has always been thrown here and there for easy fights, be it Schwartz, Pianeta, Seferi or Hammer. AJ for the last ten fights – none of that.”

“Fury is an outstanding fighter, but AJ is not Fury. He is not going to drive on people, bully, call them “losharas”, “rabbits” and so on. It’s just not his thing,” Eddie summed up.
Recall that the teams of Fury and Joshua tried in vain (?) to agree on a mega fight at the beginning of winter, but in the end, Tyson went to fight against Chisora for the third time.
But overall, if Fury had fought Joshua instead of Chisora, Tyson’s promoter Warren knows what would have happened. So far, Joshua is traveling around the US in search of a new coach.
