ONE on Prime Video 5 video: Groin shot spoils Roberto Soldic’s ONE Championship debut

Former two-division KSW champ Roberto Soldic’s ONE Championship debut couldn’t have gone any worse when an accidental knee to the groin rendered him unable to continue at ONE on Prime Video 5.

After giving up an early takedown to Murad Ramazanov, Soldic had made his way back to his feet. Then Ramazanov landed the knee, producing an audible crack and visible grimace from Soldic, who slumped face first onto the canvas.

Soldic was so in pain that officials put a bucket inside the cage to ensure there weren’t any accidents. Ramazanov protested and paced, shouting “let’s move” while his opponent wobbled. Referee Herb Dean stopped the fight after several minutes because it became clear that Ramazanov was unable to continue.

Soldic signed with ONE Championship in August after parting ways with KSW, where he captured the welterweight and middleweight titles, the latter of which he captured by knocking out Mamed Khalidov.

” I chose ONE because they have the largest martial arts promotion anywhere,” Soldic stated. They give me the opportunity to hold all of their belts, including world champion kickboxer, world champion muay Thai, world champion MMA, and world boxing champion. So this makes me something new. This is my goal: to leave a legacy for my family and my children. So I chose ONE for sure.”

Prior to Friday’s event, Soldic had won seven straight.

Check out this unfortunate ending.
