O’Malley gives Sterling advice for defeating Petr Yan at UFC 272

UFC bantamweight fighter American Sean O’Malley told what Aljamain Sterling should pay attention to to defeat Petr Yan in their rematch.

“Aljamain [Стерлинг] not a stupid guy, but a smart one. He’s a high level fighter… I think he went into the first fight with the wrong game plan. He’s already worn out after a few rounds. If you watched the fights of Peter [Яна], you might notice that he first studies the opponent, does not force things, and then in later rounds begins to apply pressure. Sterling should take this moment into account and enter the fight with the right game plan. I think that Aljamain Sterling has all the necessary skills to defeat Peter. I’m not saying that it will be, but you shouldn’t write Sterling off,” O’Malley said on Mike Bisping’s Believe You On Me podcast.

Sterling and Yan will fight in the main event of the UFC 272 tournament, which will be held on the night of March 6 in Las Vegas.

In their first fight, which took place in March at UFC 259, Yang was disqualified in the fourth round for inflicting an unintentional but illegal knee to the opponent’s head. In this regard, Sterling won and became the new UFC bantamweight champion.
