Nurmagomedov was lighter than Primus on fight day, Cyborg is significantly heavier than Zingano

The California State Athletic Commission released the results of the Bellator 300 tournament weigh-in on fight day, according to which the reigning Bellator lightweight champion, Usman Nurmagomedov, entered the semifinal grand prix bout against Brent Primus significantly underweight to the American.

At the official weigh-in procedure, the event headliners settled at 70.2 kg (154.8 lbs) each, and Nurmagomedov and Primus entered the cage at 78.6 kg (173.2 lbs) and 82 kg (180.6 lbs), respectively. Thus, the Russian added 13% weight after the weigh-in, while the American got 17% heavier.

The difference was even more significant in the women’s featherweight title fight between Cris Cyborg and Kat Zingano, which was announced as the second most important event of the tournament.

Showing 65.6 kilograms (144.6 pounds) each at the weigh-in ceremony, the girls entered the bout with a weight difference of nearly eight pounds. Cyborg recorded 74.1 kg (163.4 lbs) on the scale before stepping into the cage, while Zingano gained just 800 grams on top, showing 66.4 kg (146.4 lbs).

As a reminder, Usman Nurmagomedov advanced to the Bellator lightweight grand prix finals this past weekend, defeating Brent Primus by unanimous decision over five rounds, while Cris Cyborg finished Cat Zingano by technical knockout in the opening five rounds.
