The undisputed lightweight champion American Devin Haney (28-0, 15 KOs) named the priority goal after the rematch with Australian George Kambosos Jr. (20-1, 10 KOs). As it turned out, this is not the ex-hegemon of the division Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs) at all.

interested fight with WBA World belt holder compatriot Gervonta Davis (27-0, 25 KOs): “This fight has been promoted for years. If he is interested in my belts, then he can try to take them away at any time. Especially since he is a fake WBA champion with a Mickey Mouse belt. He can walk up to WBA boss Gilberto Mendoza at any time and tell him, “Dude, we want to fight Haney.” And he will make Gervonta the mandatory challenger in a second. Anytime, anywhere.”

Haney does not hide the fact that “the fight with Gervonta would be even bigger in scale than the fight with Kambosos. It has meaning. That is our priority goal. “Tank” Davis talks a lot. But for some reason he won’t say the most important thing, he won’t say: “Dude, let’s fight!” He’s always saying some incredible shit. Anything to avoid a real fight. And yes. I said what I said. If he suddenly wants to, then we will meet him in the ring without any problems.

In June of this year, Haney went to Australia and took away the title of undisputed lightweight champion from Kambosos. Under the terms of the contract, he is obliged to fight the ex-champion for the second fight in a row – the fight will take place on October 16 in Melbourne (Australia).

Previously, promoter Bob Arum tried his best to convince Lomachenko that he could become the undisputed champion in early 2023. But the expert claims that there will be no fight with Haney. Arum has already answered this.
