“Who was the toughest puncher I ever faced in the ring? —
thought Canelo. It was James Kirkland. He had the hardest hit. I felt its power right here (raises hands).”

Canelo’s fight with the American Kirkland took place in 2015 and ended with an early victory for the Mexican – he dropped his opponent in the starting round, knocked out in the 3rd three-minute period. James has 34 wins, including 30 early finishes. His best scalps: Glen Tapia, Carlos Molina, Alfredo Angulo, Joel Julio, Brian Vera.

And Canelo was also asked about the most beloved current boxer. Here the Mexican also surprised with the answer: “I think that one of my favorite boxers is Gervonta “Tank” Davis. This is a strong, intelligent fighter and self-confident. And also very talented.”

Canelo and Golovkin met in the ring in 2017 and 2018: at first they brought the fight to a controversial draw, and the Mexican won the rematch. In September, the long-awaited trilogy will take place – like both previous fights, the fight Canelo vs Golovkin 3 will take T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (USA).

The other day Golovkin spoke about his best rivals and the war in Ukraine. And Canelo suddenly remembered the rematch with Bivol. The Mexican claims that he has a personal relationship with the Kazakhstani. Golovkin tried to answer the question why Canelo was evil?
