Nikita Krylov was called a Ukrainian fighter, Shakhtar responds

The headliner of the upcoming UFC event, Nikita Krylov, responded to a Western journalist who called the native of Donetsk a Ukrainian fighter.

“This is a big week for Ukrainian fighters because two Ukrainian fighters are leading two tournaments of the biggest mma organizations. What do you think this means for a country like Ukraine?” the reporter asked.

“I think that in general, the entire post-Soviet space will be watching MMA this weekend, supporting Yaroslav Amosov, supporting me, and for me there is no separation in terms of people, Ukraine and Russia,” Shakhtar replied. “It’s really one nation, in case anyone didn’t know. Therefore, I will be happy to watch the fight of Yaroslav Amosov, if it does not intersect with our fight and I will have such an opportunity. I wish him good luck”

Recall that the fight between Nikita Krylov and Ryan Spann will headline the UFC Fight Night 220 tournament in Las Vegas, and Yaroslav Amosov, who holds the Bellator welterweight title, will fight Logan Storley at the Bellator 291 tournament in Dublin.
