Nikita Krylov named terms of the next fight in the UFC and a likely opponent

UFC light heavyweight division number six Nikita Krylov, who hasn’t stepped into the octagon since March of last year, revealed what his long absence was due to, when he plans to return to action, and who he sees as his next opponent.

“Last July I got to a training camp with Fedor Emelianenko, and there I aggravated an old shoulder injury,” Shakhtar told the RB Sport. “My arm stopped rising, and I realized that urgent surgical intervention was necessary. I flew to Moscow and underwent surgery at the end of July”

“Passed the first stage of recovery, immobile, then began the second, a little rehabilitation, physiotherapy, but the situation has not improved much, and since the end of November last year I am in Moscow, undergoing active rehabilitation in a specialized center. Already a month ago I started a little more active trainings, I started to do physical training. The dynamics seem to be positive, everything is going in its own way. I am still forbidden from impact, explosive training. I am waiting for when I will be able to start applied training. I also want to hear the date of the fight as soon as possible – I expect to perform in the first half of this year”

“I’m always interested in rematches, so the most interesting fight would be with Jan Blachowicz. I would also like to fight Ankalaev, but probably under different conditions. Since we are compatriots, I would like to postpone this confrontation as much as possible for more significant fights. I think Magomed should become the champion, so for me the fight with Blachowicz is more preferable. He is just recovering from an injury now, and if the stars align, we could fight on some summer card”

Nikita Krylov, 31, is riding a three-fight win streak, having knocked out Alexander Gustafsson, won by decision over Volkan Ozdemir, and finished Ryan Spann by triangle choke.
