Popular American fighter Nate Diaz will not be prosecuted on charges of assaulting New Orleans resident Rodney Peterson, known for his resemblance to blogger Logan Paul.
Last Monday, the local district attorney refused to bring Diaz to trial, dropping all charges against him. According to the fighter’s attorney, Zach Rosenfield, the DA’s office decided to close the case after a detailed review of evidence and witness testimony.
In April of this year, a viral video circulated online showing Nate Diaz performing a guillotine chokehold on a man during a street scuffle, eventually falling unconscious to the pavement.
The victim later claimed Diaz attacked him for no reason, likely mistaking him for the popular youtuber. Judging from the video, Petersen really didn’t intend to fight Diaz, and stood in front of him with his hands in the air.
Three months after the incident, Nate Diaz made an unsuccessful professional boxing debut, losing by unanimous decision to Logan Paul’s brother, Jake Paul, at the end of ten rounds. At the pre-fight press conference, Diaz continued to claim that his opponent in the street fight was Logan Paul.
